Essential river safety and rescue workshops teach recognition and avoidance of common river hazards, execution of self-rescue techniques, and rescue of paddlers in distress. Fundamental techniques for dealing with hazards such as entrapments, pins, and rescue vest applications are also taught.

Courses are customized according to the group's desired skill level. This class is through American Canoe Association, and skill courses or assessment courses are offered.

Intensive class scheduling is available for a 2 day course. Longer courses can be incorporated into a downriver multi-day float trip.
