Meet Our Guides

 

The Rio Grande is the only river you can work during the Winter Season in the United States, so our guides come from all over the country to guide full-time, year round. We strive to always "do better" to be the best in the business. Majority of our guides have been coming to the Big Bend for over 10 years, and we take pride in our knowledge of the area. We are happy to share our love of Far West Texas with you.

Join Our Team- Employment Opportunities

We do have a few available positions for river guides, hiking & backpacking guides, and shuttle drivers. 

To guide in Big Bend you must be first-aid certified in Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA) or Wilderness First Responder (WFR). We are offering a WAFA class Sept 25-28, 2023 $550 and there is a WFR class the first week of January.

Employment Dates:

• Full Season: September 1st- May 31st

• Fall Season: September 1st- January 10th

• Spring Season: February 10th- May 31st

There are camp-spots at our outpost with electric hook-ups available ($25/ week). We have a guide kitchen, bathroom, and  descent WIFI.​
